Gouk & Sullivan (1971) Limited was originally set up in 1931 by Eric Gouk and Basil Sullivan.
The new company was incorporated in 1971.
Today we are still a New Zealand owned company that is managed by the share-holders: Douglas Shadbolt and Graham Gibbons who joined the company in 1973 and John Helmink in 1982.

Our location in Mt Wellington,
Auckland, adjacent to the Southern Motorway puts us in a good
position to offer a prompt, efficient service to local factories,
shipping through the Ports of Auckland, Tauranga, Whangarei and
to industry further afield.
As electrical Engineers, the
company specialises in armature and motor rewinding, and the
general servicing and repair of electric motors, generators,
transformers and other related plant and equipment.
Gouk & Sullivan (1971) Ltd
has two vacuum/pressure vessels for the impregnation of armature
and stator windings. These vessels have dimensions of 2.5 x 0.6
and 2.5 x 1.5 metres respectively.
An integral part of the
company's operation is it's ability to offer a comprehensive
balancing service for rotating equipment, guaranteed to I.S.O.
1940 standard, or to customer specification. Our modern in-house
facilities can balance equipment varying in weight from 100 grams
to 6 tonne. Much larger equipment can also be balanced on site.

has specialised automatic coil shaping machines which ensure
consistent and precise coil geometry and dimensions. The company
manufactures a range of coils, both L.V. and H.V. to 11K.V. for
motors, armatures, alternators and generators.
New shafts and other parts are
manufactured to specifications as required, and mechanical repairs
are undertaken covering shafts, bearings, housings and general
welding.

has lifting gear capable of handling up to 12 tonne. The comprehensive
schedule of equipment includes: 2 balancing machines, a large
and small lathe, Electric, MIG and TIG welding facilities, metal
spraying, a coil spreader, a coil press, several winding machines,
2 large baking ovens, a burnout oven, and test facilities for
both A.C. and D.C. motors.
We can make available an on-site
rewinding and repair service, together with a preventative maintenance
inspection facility. We endeavour to provide solutions to all
your electric motor problems.
We provide a seven day service
as required.
