Insulated Bearing Housings

Insulated bearing housings for high voltage motors and motors on variable speed drives.

Gouk & Sullivan (1971) Ltd has for a number of years provided a service of in insulating bearing housings by plasticising the machine surfaces that contact the bearing, hence eliminating electrical discharge that causes damage to the bearing raceways.

The advantage to the customer is this can often be achieved at a lower cost than using an expensive ceramic coated bearing.   Because standard bearings can be used in the motor on going future service costs can be reduced and costly down time is eliminated by standard bearing availability.  This process is carried out in conjunction with fitting a shaft ground brush after the motor has been reassembled.
